NSNA Partners with San Diego Blood Bank for MidYear Conference 2017
Service and Impact Beyond the Bedside
According to the San Diego Blood Bank (SDBB), “We Need Hundreds of Blood Components Everyday to Serve San Diego.” NSNA is excited to be partnering with SDBB at the 35th MidYear Conference.
The San Diego Blood Bank must collect hundreds of blood components every day in order to meet the needs of area hospital patients who are battling life-threatening blood disorders like aplastic anemia, sickle cell anemia and leukemia, as well as those who need blood in times of trauma and disaster.
The San Diego Blood Bank needs your help to maintain a stable blood supply. Every two seconds someone in the United States needs blood. More than 38,000 blood donations are needed everyday. Of those Americans who may be eligible to donate blood, less than 5% donate each year. Giving blood is one of the easiest and most important ways you can help your community.
The Population and Global Health Committee invites you to schedule some time to donate blood and help others in need. We will be partnering with the San Diego Blood Bank on Friday, November 3, 2017. The drive will take place at Town and Country Hotel in the parking lot from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the San Diego Blood Bank’s bloodmobile.
Scheduling an appointment is recommended as the spaces are limited. Help us meet our goal and save lives.
